Version: 1.7 Size: 71 Kb Date: May 11, 1999 Type of software: Freeware Minimum requirements: Windows 3.1. Clean System Directory helps you save disk space by finding and removing unused DLL files. Over time the Windows system directory can become cluttered-up with unused DLL files which waste disk space and slow the system down. The more files there are in your system directory the longer the system takes to locate a file there. This program scans your system looking for all references to DLL files in your Windows system directory. Those DLL files in the system directory that have no programs calling on them can be moved out of the system directory, saving disk space and improving system performance. The utility is safe because it only moves the DLLs to a backup directory, but doesn't delete any files. At a later date, once you know your system is working properly, you can delete the DLL files manually. It works well with Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.
